The new Jackie Robinson movie scored big over the weekend.. Surprisingly, Scary Movie 5 did too. I didn’t realize that people still watched the bad spoof movies. The franchise should have ended with the Wayans brothers.
Here’s what went down at the box office this weekend!
1- “42″, the movie about Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in the MLB, debuted with $27.3 million.
2- “Scary Movie 5″ opened with $15.2 million.
3- “The Croods” earned $13.2 mil, bringing the 4 week total to $143 million.
4. “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” brought in $10.8 million, bringing the three week total to $102 million.
5. “Evil Dead” earned $9.5 million, bringing the two week total to $41.5 mil.
Honorable mentions- Jurassic Park 3D held the 6th spot with $8.8mil, bringing the two week total to $31.9. And Oz the Great and Powerful is still going strong. It’s in the 8th spot this week with $4.9mil, bringing the movie’s six week total to $219mil.

Rebel Wilson was the host of this year’s MTV Movie Awards and was a spectacular host at that. She brought funny and crude humor to the audience and had a great opening to the awards show. Her opening was collaborated with James Franco and her stuffed Channing Tatum pillow in the deserts of Australia!
Once arriving at the stage, she does her own performance with her cast members from “Pitch Perfect” that was great and fun! Rebel also went on to win two awards for her movie “Pitch Perfect.” But it doesn’t stop there for her. She had some of the funniest bits at the awards, including one where she shows the roles she had in the big hit movies of the year, like “Life of Pi,” or “Les Miserables.” She also had a funny bit involving her Koala, Chlamydia!
Emma Watson was honored with the Trailblazer Award by two of her cast mates, the hunky Eddie Redmayne and Logan Lerman and EVEN Jonah Hill!
And “Best Kiss,” which has usually gone to the Twilight series, has gone to Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence for their roles in “Silver Linings Playbook.” Unfortunately, Jennifer wasn’t there for an on-stage smooch between the two gorgeous cast mates!
The BIG winner of the night was “The Avengers,” which won three awards, including Movie of the Year. In addition to “The Avengers” taking home the big awards, Jamie Foxx was honored with the MTV Generation Award this year. His co-star Kerry Washington presented the award to him before his on-stage “Thank Yous.”
Another big award presented was the Best Comedic Genius Award that went to non-other than Will Ferrell! And obviously he had a comedic way of accepting his award, especially as he walked out in his money-printed suit.
And last, we cannot forget the musical performances at the MTV Movie Awards. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Selena Gomez both performed their hits. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed “Can’t Hold Us” and had a superb performance. Selena Gomez on the other hand, doesn’t have the best vocals…great song, but not the strongest voice.

Everyone is a little confused about this whole Jay-Z and Beyonce trip to Cuba because well that’s sort of not allowed for us Americans. And while everyone is giving Jay-Z crap for it, he’s in the studio throwing down a track…and a good one at best.
He released an “Open Letter“, which is kind of telling everyone to stop criticizing because the president himself gave him permission to travel to Cuba.
“I turned Havana into Atlanta… Boy from the hood I got White House clearance… Obama said, ‘Chill you gonna get me impeached You don’t need this s***anyway, chill with me on the beach”
Nothing is official until a rapper throws it in a song either. So this must be true since President Obama and Jay-Z are so tight anyway. But White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, says that it’s just a song.
“It’s a song, Donovan. The President did not communicate with Jay-Z over this trip.”
Obviously…
DUH DONOVAN! The Treasury handles licenses for travel…not the president! And nothing rhymes with Treasury anyway.

Teen Mom Farrah Abraham made a sex tape with porn star James Deen so she would have something to look back on when she’s older with delight… Oh, and she also wants millions for it! So far, she’s gotten an offer for $100k. Not bad for some dumb reality celebrity but still not near what she was hoping for.
Well someone put up a survey asking which celebrity they would most like to see in their own home video. Now they were given a list of choices so keep in mind, that’s probably the only reason that Snooki and Jwoww are on this list.
The top three celebs that people want to see their tape are-
Jennifer Lawrence (22%), Anne Hathaway (17%) and Jennifer Aniston (15%).
Other people that made the list in no particular order are Miley Cyrus, Halle Berry, Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Lopez, Snooki, Jwoww and Kim Kardashian with Kanye West with Ray J singing ‘I Hit It First’ in the background. Ok, I made up the Ray-J part but the rest is true.
And the movies they would like to see turned into an XXX parody is Django Unchained and Lincoln.
Details magazine did a survey to find out who are the most, um let’s say do-able, celebrities.
The ladies chose Ryan Gosling as their #1 pick with 50% votes, Zac Efron was a close 2nd with 45% votes. After that, they wanted (in order of most votes) Adam Levine, Channing Tatum and Bradley Cooper.
The men chose Mila Kunis as their first choice. She got 41% of the votes, followed by (in order) Kate Upton, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Alba (when was this survey? 2007?) and Megan Fox.
